Boulangerie Patisserie Annick et Didier, Avenue Trudaine, Paris

Being based in the 9e on Rue Rochechouart, I quickly tried out all the boulangerie patisserie in the neighborhood and quickly found that there was no competition at all for Boulangerie Patisserie Annick et Didier on Avenue Trudaine who sell the most amazing bread and pastries. Every morning once I discovered their place, I went out pre-coffee, dazed and confused, to get fresh bread and chouquettes for my daughter there for breakfast. My daughter became obsessed with the chouquettes from there and trust me, she has tested chouquettes all over town. The staff at Boulangerie Patisserie Annick et Didier were always friendly and helpful - it seemed that it was a husband and wife set up, with the wife running the show in the morning (she's the one with the colourful butterfly tattoo on her arm) and the husband (he's the one with the massive smile) taking over later in the day and at the weekends. I fell so much in love with their breads, that I brought home a "La Tradition" in one of our suitcases, so I wouldn't miss their bread so badly. It worked at least for dinner that night, but thereafter, I'm seriously in withdrawal: as everyone knows, finding decent bread in London is a major ordeal. The phone number for Boulangerie Patisserie Annick et Didier if you want directions is 01.48.78.83.99 and they're located directly opposite the little park and playground called Square d'Anvers. The Anvers metro is a minute away. Or you can come from Barbes-Rochechouart which is five minutes walk away.
